Although I plan to give you an update on my Nutrisystem progress this week, like everyone else on the planet, I have to talk a little about Oprah.  Because believe it or not, Oprah and I have a few things in common.  One of them is our weight-loss struggle.

I feel like I’ve grown up with Oprah.  I started watching her show when I got out of college.  As I moved, got married and moved again, over these past 25 years I still find Oprah relevant to my life.  At one point, when I was determined to lose weight “once and for all”, I turned to a medically-supervised fast–Optifast.  I had been watching Oprah slim down, too and wondering how she was doing it. Then I saw that infamous show where she fit into the skinny jeans and discovered we were on the same diet plan! And just like Oprah, after a time, the 67 pounds I lost on Optifast came back.  And then some.

One of my most memorable “Oprah” moments came not long after my mom passed away.  I attended one of her “Live Your Best Life” days.  It was so powerful and motivating.  Oprah is a force that you literally feel when you’re in the audience.  Her “Live Your Best Life” mantra is something that I believe in, totally. It is what has motivated me to lose this weight once and for ALL.

As Oprah signs off today, I will use the energy that she has put out into the world to be my own force of change.  That is my tribute to her.  Birthdays for me are always a life marker. On this birthday, I will continue to live my best life.  That includes continuing to eat healthier and lose weight. Tonight I will be going out to celebrate. I plan to enjoy myself, eat a good meal, have a sliver of cake and get right back on the Nutrisystem program tomorrow morning.

This week my weight was unchanged, keeping my total weight loss since March 13th to 24 pounds. If you would like to lose weight and eat healthier, visit Nutrisystem today or call 888-853-4689 for more information.
