It’s never easy to reinterpret a classic, but CHANEL has done just that with the release of CHANEL N°19 Poudré Eau de Parfum. Read on for more…
The original N°19 was said to be Mademoiselle’s personal fragrance, released on August 19th, her birthday. This year, on August 19th, a new modern classic was launched–CHANEL N°19 Poudré.
“I wanted to underline the importance of iris at CHANEL, while giving a new facet to N°19,” revealed Jacques Polge. “The desire to rework the original accord with other, more contemporary, powdery notes, came naturally to me.”
The top notes of N°19 Poudré are Grasse Neroli and Mandarin Orange; the middle notes are Jasmine Absolute and Iris Pallida and the drydown is White Musk Notes, Haitian Vetiver and Tonka Bean.
The composition of N°19 Poudré seems to be less green, more floral/powdery and with the musky drydown, definitely more wearable on me than the original fragrance. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how light and fresh I have found it to be. I’ve spritzed N°19 Poudré again and again–and can’t get enough of it. The mark of a new favorite fragrance.
CHANEL N°19 Poudré Eau de Parum retails at $85 for a 1.7 oz. bottle. Try it and let me know your impression in the comments!
