It’s fair to say that the release of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book brings the fantasy and excess of the holiday season to the masses. Personally, I always love wondering how they can top the previous year’s fantasy picks. This year’s edition is out and I’ve got a preview. Read on for more….
Some people think the day after Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday shopping season, but there’s another segment that thinks, no, it’s the arrival of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. This year, the fantasy gifts include His and Hers Dancing Fountains –if you’re wondering, that will set you back a cool $1 Million. If the recession has hit hard, there is an Assouline Custom-Built Library, stocked with one of a kind pieces from the Assouline Collection. I would love this, but at $125,000 this fantasy gift is not in the budget.
Actually, the gift I would want most out of all of them is among the least expensive at $75,000. The “Dream Folly” is inspired by the classic 1960s TV show I Dream of Jeannie. That was all I needed to know. The 18-foot-diameter yurt is the ideal simulation of a genie’s posh bottle, with an interior that goes beyond your wildest, most decadent dreams.
Renowned designer Rebecca Vizard thought of every detail in this space and selected colors to evoke the bubbles of a warm, soothing bath. Tons of one-of-a-kind down-filled pillows were added. I love the attention to detail, including a custom, handcrafted crystal chandelier. Who wouldn’t want to close out the rest of the world and retreat to this space? If my hubby wants me to go “back in the bottle”, I’m not going to waste any time!
If you didn’t receive your copy of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book in the mail, you can access it on your iPad via the “NM Editions” app. If you’ve checked it out, what fantasy gift is on your list?
