Everyone likes to be pampered and what better time than the holidays? Gifts of beauty, bath and body creams or fragrance are some of the nicest gifts to get. I’ve sifted through some of my favorites of the season and pulled together a gift guide that includes the best of the best. Read on for more…
A collaboration between Ken Downing, Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus and Le Metier de Beaute, gives us the Merry Metallics set of four festive nail lacquers: Plum Puddin’, a rich plum spun with sheer silver, Red–E Waiting, a sheer red with metallic gold undertones (my nail shade of choice for the holidays!), Tarnished Silver, a moonlit platinum and Lamé Entertain You, a shimmering copper with silver undertones. $32, at Neiman Marcus.
One of the biggest and best gift sets from bare Minerals is the “Putting On the Glitz” set. This ten piece set includes Eyecolor in Glitz and Glamtastic, Blush in Gorgeous (petunia pink), Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner in 5PM (deep plum–gorgeous!), Prime Time Primer Shadow in Toasted Almond, All Over Face Color in Luxe Radiance, Pretty Amazing Lipgloss in Perky (warm rose), Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara in black, a double-ended gold brush and sparkly clutch. The colors are so wearable, you (or your giftee) will get tons of wear out of it. It’s a smart buy, too–a $157 value for $54, exclusively at Sephora.
From Crabtree & Evelyn, this Pomegranate, Argan & Grapeseed Lux Tote features the most indulgent body products imaginable. Includes Bath & Shower Gel, Body Lotion, Hand Recovery and Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy. The fragrance is wonderful–light, citrusy and fresh. The quality of these extremely nourishing products is outstanding. Know someone that needs a little extra pampering? This would be a fantastic gift! Available at Crabtree-Evelyn.com, $68.
The Wild & Chic Aqua Cream Collection from MAKE UP FOR EVER is a makeup-lover’s dream. Included in the set are ten shades of Aqua Cream eye shadows and a #5N eye shadow brush. This cream eye shadow has a formula unlike any other. It’s 100% waterproof, crease-proof and goof-proof! The pigmentation in these shadows is amazing. My favorite shades are #1 (Anthracite) and #2 (Steel), although they’re all beautiful. The set is packaged in a Wild & Chic faux-snakeskin patterned tin. Love this! Available at Sephora, $175.
Pampermint Foot Care Gift Set: Wrap your feet in holiday cheer with the joyful tingle of peppermint and oh-so-soft comfort of plushy socks. Set includes FootWork Foot Scrub, SoleMate Foot Cream and Signature Socks in a holiday gift box. This gift set would be appreciated by anyone that is on their feet all day. This set is so colorful, you only need to add a bow for gift-giving. From Arbonne, $46.
I could never do a gift guide without including a fragrance and one of my latest favorites is Tom Ford Violet Blonde. Opulent; sophisticated; glamorous, is how I think of this fragrance. The creator, Tom Ford, describes it best: ““Violet Blonde has the spirit of a classical, European fragrance. It is formal, polished, and yet draws you in closer and closer, like a beautifully dressed woman whose refined presence charms, then fascinates, and ultimately seduces you.” I say, it’s substantial without being heavy. A 1.7 oz. bottle retails at $100, available at Saks.
And what’s on my wishlist? I thought you’d never ask! The Chantecaille Evening Duo is a limited-edition palette that has it all in my book. Two beautiful eye shadows–Charmeuse, a soft, luminous neutral shade and Carbon, a jet black shade, essential for the perfect smoky eye. And the compact, adorned with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS is beyond gorgeous. I hope Santa is reading this!
