If you were around in the early 1990s, you probably remember the launch of the mega-successful ck one fragrance. Now, after years of success with the fragrance franchise, ck one is branching out with a line of color cosmetics. I’ve recently had the chance to preview the line. Read on for my thoughts.
The new ck one color cosmetics line is a full collection of 130 products. I love the super-cool, understated packaging–the boxes are a striking half white/half black with the simple ck one logo on the front. The individual product cases are pill-shaped and carry that same minimal-but-cool aesthetic.
The philosophy of the line is to stay authentic to who you are; to look real, define yourself and add intensity. Overall, my initial impression is that the products are good quality; I plan on picking up an eyeshadow quad in the future.
The ck one 3-in-1 face makeup spf 8 combines an antioxidant-enriched daily serum, primer + foundation into one. It has a weightless feel on the skin and light-to-medium coverage. It starts out as a more medium-coverage, but keep working it in to make it more sheer. I really liked the silky feel on the skin. I tried the 3-in-1 face makeup ($30) in the #200 Fair shade and it was a good match for my skin tone.
Another favorite product is the ck one cream + powder blush duo. This combination works especially well if you tend to have oily skin or your makeup needs to last all day. Start by applying the cream blush first, then lightly add the powdered blush to set. I tried the #500 fun shade ($25), which is a pretty pink duo for spring.
And don’t miss the amazing ck one lipgloss! Intense, brilliant color, no stickiness, a great applicator and it tastes like cake batter–I’m in for more of these! My pick for summer is #100 Showoff ($15), a popsicle-pink shade.
The ck one color cosmetics line will debut exclusively at ULTA Beauty this month. Prices range from $14 for a nail color up to $30 for the 3-in-1 face makeup spf 8. Do you plan on trying the line out? Let me know what you think!
