When it comes to blushes, I’ve always loved the MAC brand.  One reason is that seem to have a blush for every skin tone and variation, every mood, every fashion trend, every season.  It’s hard to not find one to love. And with the introduction of the MAC Très Cheek Collection, it’s easier than ever to find a perfect blush!

The MAC Très Cheek Collection is a collection of six perfect-for-spring blushes:

Pink Tea- Neutral beige pink (satin)

Lovecloud – Bright mid-tone pink (satin)

Peony Petal – Bright blue pink (satin)

Modern Mandarin –  Red-orange (satin)

Immortal Flower – Bright peach (satin)

Full of Joy – Lavender (frost)

I tested four colors in the Tres Chic Collection:  Pink Tea, Lovecloud, Peony Petal and Modern Mandarin.  Three of the four were pinks.  I could easily see a different use for each of these colors. Pink tea is kind of a pink-y beige and could actually be used as a highlighter. Lovecloud is very subtle and innocent looking; Peony Petal is more pigmented. I would say that shade gives the most natural flushed look.  And Modern Mandarin, although definitely a bold shade, can be applied with a light hand and then coverage built up.

The photo above shows swatches of (L to R): Modern Mandarin, Pink Tea, Lovecloud and Peony Petal.  In terms of pigmentation, I felt I had good, sheer, coverage using different brushes.  While the MAC 116 Blush Brush works well with all colors, I preferred the 138 Tapered Face Brush for Modern Mandarin.  That brush was more effective at controlling the exact placement of color and was better for building. And while that shade looks super-bright in the pan, don’t be afraid of it! It’s very wearable.

The MAC Très Cheek Collection is available at MAC counters and online at www.maccosmetics.com; each shade retails at $20.00.   Are you in the mood for a new blush?  Let me know in the comments!
