Even though I usually talk about how my Nutrisystem weight loss plan went for the week, I learned a valuable lesson today that I thought I would share.  Today my website was hacked — a major stressor for me.  Beyond the blogging basics, I’m not a techie with my website. On a day like today, it would have been easy to dig into the pantry and go off the deep end.

What I actually did was…nothing. I didn’t go near the pantry. I kept a level head, contacted a guy that helped me out before and although I was stressed, I didn’t deal with it by eating. That’s a major victory for me! It feels great to say that I thought things through and didn’t use food as a crutch, as I had so many times in the past.

I think that, in some ways, this is a good lesson for me to draw on for the next time I feel that things are spinning out of control.  I have to remember to take a deep breath and find another way to deal with stress, other than eating.
