The changing of the seasons affects more than just your skin. Have you noticed that your hair is not cooperating? Fluctuations in temperature and humidity can mean it’s time to change up hair products. We’ve taken a look at some of the best new releases for your hair.  Read on for more…

Inspired by honey’s natural power to heal and revitalize, the Herbal Essences Honey, I’m Strong Rinse Out Treatment smoothes away styling damage from root to tip for silky, strong moisturized strands. Not only does this hair masque smell amazing, it’s reasonably priced at only $4.99! Also available in the Honey I’m Strong line are a shampoo and conditioner; available in drug, discount and grocery stores.

A new product I can’t live without is Garnier Sleek Finish 5-in-1 Serum Spray. This is a multitasking fine-mist Moroccan Argan Oil spray that conditions hair by smoothing, easing frizz, fights humidity, eliminates fly-aways and adds shine. I love that I can better control application, which means I don’t get greasy or weighed-down hair.  Find Sleek Finish 5-in-1 Serum Spray at mass market retailers, $4.29.

Yes To is out with a new Yes To Hair Collection–this line seemingly tackles all our beauty problems! My favorite products are the Yes To Cucumbers Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner. The product is 99% natural and free of sulfates, which is important to me for maintaining my color. I find the products to be gentle, effective and of course, they smell great.  Look for the Yes To Hair Collection at Target, Walgreens, Safeway and at

A quick glance at the new Goody QUIKSTYLE Half-Round Brush and you can see something is different. This brush has built-in microfibers to remove excess moisture,  helping dry hair up to 30% faster. I’ve definitely noticed that when I use it, drying time does seem shorter. The half-round shape is versatile for styling and overall, this is a comfortable brush to use. It doesn’t pull or tug at hair, either. Look for the Goody QUIKSTYLE Half Round Brush on your next Target run, $11.99.

The one place on my body that I’m flat—is my hair. So I’m constantly looking for good volumizing products. One that I’ve found and like is amika Blow Up Hair Spray. Not only is this an excellent heat protectant, but Blow Up volumizes, adds texture and repairs, too. Another aspect I like is that you can use Blow Up spray on dry hair to refresh your style. Available at HSN, $24.

It seems everyone is curious about dry hair shampoos. One that I’ve come to love is the AVEENO® PURE RENEWAL™ Dry Shampoo. I’ve found myself using this so much more than I’d ever thought I would. Perfect for refreshing hair between shampoos or when your hair looks flat, I love that I haven’t had any issues, as far as getting the dreaded “white hair”. I like to spray it at the roots to add some lift to my hair. You can find AVEENO® PURE RENEWAL™ Dry Shampoo at drug, discount and grocery stores.

One treatment that I regularly get at my salon is a clear glaze over my color. Not only does a clear glaze revive the color, it adds tons of shine.  Now I can skip the pricey treatment at the salon, thanks to John Frieda Clear Shine Luminous Glaze.  In addition to shine, you can expect smoothing and conditioning–and easy application. In drug and discount stores, $7.99.

I’m always leery of an “extra hold” or “strong” hairspray. On me, it usually means that I won’t be able to get a comb through my hair or there’s massive buildup–not good. That’s why I’m happy to tell you about Rusk W8less Plus Extra Strong Hold Shaping and Control Spray. I like that my hair is touchable, yet at the same time has incredible hold. And no buildup! I’d re-buy this one. You can find it at salons and online at, $14.00.
