This past year, like millions of others, I’ve been working hard to maintain a healthier lifestyle. I no longer cringe at the thought of getting some workout gear as a Christmas gift. In fact, here are a few gift suggestions for the health or fitness-fanatic! Read on for more…
Fitness wear today is not what it was ten years ago. Now, not only is it fashionable–it’s functional, too. Whether you’re doing PiYo, Pilates or Yoga, you want to look good, but still have fabric that breathes and wicks away moisture. Enter Zobha. You could wear these pieces to any general work out class. The pieces that are on my wishlist are the Performance Straight Leg Capri, the Performance Agility Tank and the Performance Essential Zip Jacket. Available at Zobha.com.
A line I’ve recently been introduced to is Ahnu Footwear. I’ve been running around town in my Ahnu Karma’s; a shoe that looks good enough to go from the post-workout to the mall. Easy to get in and out of and so comfortable, these shoes will be my go-to for travel, also. Karma’s look especially good with the shorter-length yoga pants. The fit is true-to-size and there was absolutely no “break-in” time. I’d definitely wear this brand again. Available at Zappos.
We’ve all heard about the “beauty-box” sampling subscription services. Now, there’s a new monthly subscription service called KLUTCHClub that sends a curated and “themed” box of holistic health, fitness and wellness products right to your doorstep every month. As someone who’s trying to eat healthier and make better choices, it’s confusing to go to the store and not know which brands are better than others. I tried the December KLUTCHClub box (pictured above, $10.00 per month + $8.00 shipping). It was fun to gain exposure to brands I hadn’t heard of and it was well worth the money! I think giving someone the gift of a KLUTCHClub subscription would be a great way to start their New Year out right! Get more info at KLUTCHClub.com.
One of the keys to my weight-loss success is being diligent about tracking and monitoring food intake and exercise. With the Fitbit One, you can track steps, distance, calories burned, and stairs climbed; even monitor your sleep. Your stats sync wirelessly via computer and with select mobile devices. Powered by your stats, you can set goals, track progress, earn badges or share or compete with friends. log food, workouts and more. I like that it’s small and inconspicuous. This would be a great gift for someone trying to live a healthier lifestyle. Fitbit is available at Target and FitBit.com.
