We’re still at the beginning of a new year and while many of us are working on resolutions–to work out, lose weight, eat healthier–you might want to add “change of the health of my hair” to the list. There are a variety of factors preventing your hair from being it’s most beautiful. Read on for more…

The days of the “wash, rinse and condition” hair regimen are over. Hair is constantly fighting a hostile environment. A variety of aggressors − both environmental (sun, UV rays) and lifestyle-related (diet, heat tools) impact the immediate and long-term health of your hair. Damaged hair takes many forms: dry, frizzy, dull, lifeless–the list goes on. The researchers at L’Oreal have confirmed what stylists have known for years–that in addition to shampoo and conditioner, you really need to be using a treatment product to take your hair to the next level. This one little addition in hair routine is essential in helping hair reach its optimal health.

L’Oreal Paris has introduced Advanced Haircare; a clinically-tested line that includes 5 shampoos and conditioners and 7 hair treatments. The Advanced Haircare line includes a range of five targeted modules designed to address the five most common hair concerns of American women:

  • Damage (Total Repair 5)
  • Moisture (Power Moisture)
  • Hair Color Vibrancy (Color Vibrancy)
  • Smoothness (Smooth Intense)
  • Hair Breakage (Triple Resist)

You can pick and choose the hair systems and products that best work for your hair type and needs. Across the line, there is one ingredient present throughout – Arginine-K Complex™.  Proprietary to L’Oréal, this complex includes amino acids + protein to penetrate hair from root to core to tip, and when used regularly, is formulated to deliver instant results and lasting transformation. The shampoos and conditioners in this line are nice, but it’s that third step–the treatment products–where the Advanced Haircare line really shines.

I’ve had the opportunity to preview the Advanced Haircare line and honestly, I love it. This dry winter air is really taking a toll on my hair, so I’m using the Total Repair 5 range, which contains the Arginine-K Complex™ plus ceramides to treat the visible signs of damaged hair. In my case that includes split ends, weakness, dehydration and dullness.

I’m using the L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Shampoo and Conditioner and then have added in the Multi-Restorative Dry Oil, which is a fabulous treatment product for taming flyaways and amping up the shine. And it doesn’t weigh my hair down! Twice a week I’ve been deep conditioning with the Total Repair 5 Dry Erasing Balm, which is a more intense repair mask. When these treatment products are used with Total Repair 5 Shampoo and Conditioner, they can reverse up to one year’s worth of hair damage. I know one thing–my hair definitely looks better. And I can’t believe that these are drug store products–they look and feel much more upscale.
