Summer at NARS is going to be sizzling. Created by Founder and Creative Director François Nars, the new NARS Summer 2013 Color Collection provides a strikingly cool color palette that is a modern take on 70s glamour. It’s anything but tame! Read on for more…
The NARS Summer 2013 Color Collection includes:
Fashion Rebel Duo Eyeshadow in Dandelion and African Violet, $34
Barrow Street Larger Than Life Longwear Eyeliner (seafoam green), $24
Puerto Vallarta Multiple (shimmering tangerine), $39
Tolede Lipstick (pink rose), $24
Madness Nail Polish (electric orange), $19
I’ve been able to test several products from the NARS Summer Collection and I like what I see. Purple is certainly trending right now and the shade in the Fashion Rebel Duo Eyeshadow is just gorgeous. African Violet is a medium-orchid shade that is richly pigmented. I was wondering how I’d work this shade into a look with the bright yellow, but if NARS makeup has taught me anything, it’s to not be afraid of color. In the look above, I used the Alhambra Duo Eyeshadow as a base and then added Dandelion into the inner corner of my eye and African Violet in the outer corner and crease. I completed the look by lining with Calabria Soft Touch Shadow Pencil and finishing with mascara.
NARS Paris Follies Larger Than Life Lip Gloss is another must-have for your summer makeup bag. The color is gorgeous and will look so good against bronzed skin!
The last product I tried was the Madness Nail Polish. While normally I’m a huge fan of NARS nail polish, I just didn’t feel the love for Madness. The formula on this one seemed thin and even with three coats over a white base, I felt like that was too much work for a neon orange polish. I love the color, though. If you get it, let me know what you think.
The NARS Summer 2013 Color Collection is available now on narscosmetics.com and will be available soon in department stores. Do you plan on brightening up your summer with NARS? Let me know what you’re picking up!
