It’s always fun to try out a makeup line you’ve never tried before and I recently had the opportunity to preview the new Senna Summer Sunglow Collection. This is a beautiful collection for summer that features warm, golden shades for day and more dramatic shades for night. Read on for my thoughts…
The Senna Summer Sunglow Collection features two looks: the Bronzelite look is a monochromatic palette of sunkissed bronze shades–neutral colors that anyone can wear and more of a daytime look. The Emerald Isle look is warm, with bronze and emerald tones but definitely more dramatic and suited for evening. The entire collection is really beautiful and I definitely found products that will have me coming back for more.
The Bronzelite look includes the following:
- Rose Gold Eye Color ($18)
- Midas Cream Lipstick ($20)
- Sunstone Lip Lacquer ($20)
- Ultra Last Eyeliner in Ultra Brown ($20)
- Brilliant Bronze in Dawn ($42)
- Powder Point Brush ($38)
The Emerald Isle look includes the following:
- Emerald Eye Color ($18)
- Down to Earth Lipstick ($20)
- Bonfire Lip Lacquer ($20)
- Ultra Last Eyeliner in Ultra Black ($20)
- Brilliant Bronze in Sunset ($42)
- Powder Point Brush ($38)
The 411: In trying and wearing this collection, I have to say I was really impressed by the Senna cosmetics line. The eyeshadow colors are nicely pigmented and can be used wet or dry. At first I was totally intimidated by the Emerald Eye Color, but in reality, the finish is almost a duochrome and it’s so pretty on.
The Lip Lacquers are also very nice and I love that they’re vanilla flavored and so moisturizing and conditioning. When I first saw the Bonfire shade, I thought “no way” and yet once applied, it’s actually my favorite of the two colors! The Ultra Last Eyeliner has a chiseled point for total precision. It’s long-lasting, waterproof and smudgeproof.
The star of the collection is definitely the Brilliant Bronze Baked Mineral Bronzer & Highlighter. I have to admit, my favorite is the Dawn shade, which is a light bronze with a pink highlighter; the Sunset is a deep bronze with a gold highlighter (shown above). Both shades are pretty with a subtle shimmer, thanks to a formula that includes cultivated fresh water pearls. I would highly recommend purchasing the Powder Point Brush, also. This brush allows you to place the bronzer color in exactly the right place, as well as contour and highlight. Love this!
