Today is October 1st–the beginning of a month where we will be bombarded with “pink” products in the name of breast cancer awareness. And I’m OK with that. This year, as in years past, I support the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign, which benefits the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Read on for more…

For the past two decades, the late Evelyn H. Lauder, co-creator of the Pink Ribbon and founder of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF), had been a leading voice for breast cancer awareness around the world.  Although she is not here to be the face of the campaign any more, it is in capable hands. The theme of this year’s campaign is “Let’s defeat breast cancer. We’re stronger together.” To date, The BCA Campaign has raised $48 million to support research, education and medical services worldwide. This year’s goal is to raise $5 million.

Each year, although there are many charities to choose from, I donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The reason is simple. I believe in it’s mission 100%. I support BCA activities and products throughout October to honor my mom, who had a rare type of breast cancer with no abnormal mammograms and yet positive estrogen receptors. So this fight is personal for me. I appreciate that the Estée Lauder Companies have always had a clear vision and unwavering committment to this cause.

Clinique Oct-DDML

The product I’m putting in the spotlight today is Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, each year Clinique offers a special, limited-edition bottle of this best-selling moisturizer and each year it sells out quickly. This year, we get the advantage of the new DDML formula, which improves skin’s barrier strength by 54% and offers additional hydration.

The limited-edition version of Clinique’s new Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + is adorned with a Clinique key ring with a “C” shaped charm and a set of three hearts ornamented with ribbons. It really makes a nice gift. The 6.7 ounce jumbo bottle retails at $38, with $10 of the purchase price being donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. You can find the Clinique Limited-Edition Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + at Clinique counters nationwide including Sephora, Nordstrom and at
