If there’s one thing I can never resist, it’s the lure of makeup brushes. So when I had the opportunity to try the Crown Brush HD Cosmetic Brush Set complements of iFabbo, I was all over it.
If you’re not familiar with Crown Brush, they’re an established brush manufacturer. I’ve previously bought individual Crown Brushes at The Makeup Show and have been pleased with the quality. Crown Brush is one of the largest brush suppliers and they generally have great prices.
I tried the HD Cosmetic Brush Set (Set 615) in white, which includes six basic brushes for a complete makeup look. For eyes, a Shadow, Crease and Liner Brush; for face, a Powder, Blush and Contour Brush, plus tweezers, a mirror and matching case.
The brushes are synthetic and of good quality. With this set, you can use the brushes to apply HD cosmetics, as well as products that have cream, liquid or powder texture. I used the blush brush with cream and powder blushes and found no shedding and generally got good results. The powder brush also worked on a variety of textures, including loose finishing powder and solid/compact powder. Since I have several of the eye and liner brushes, I was satisfied with the quality of the brushes in this set. The one miss for me is that I would have preferred the bristles to be one color instead of the colored-tips.
If you’re looking to buy a good, basic set of makeup brushes at a reasonable price, check out the Crown Brush HD Cosmetic Brush Set, which retails at $27.95. I would also recommend checking out some of the Crown Brush specialty brushes–there are so many to choose from and it’s fun to see all the different brushes.
