Guerlain’s Spring 2014 Météorites Blossom Collection celebrates the reinvention of the legendary Météorites Pearls, whose light-diffusing properties minimize flaws and add brightness to the skin. If you’d have told me improvement on my very favorite finishing powder was possible, I wouldn’t have believed you.
The Spring Collection is centered around the Météorites Pearls, which incorporate Guerlain’s new, revolutionary Stardust Technology; a spherical pigment contained within each pearl. This formulation diffracts light upon contact to offer the ultimate in luminous skin.
The Guerlain Spring 2014 Météorites Blossom Collection includes:
Météorites Pearls, $60
Each “shade” contains three of the same pearls: mauve catches the light, pink refreshes and yellow counters dullness and corrects redness. The Météorites Brush ($42) is my choice for application.
This Spring there are three new permanent Météorites shades:
- 02 Clair, which includes green pearls for extra redness correction, white pearls to reflect the light and champagne pearls for luminosity.
- 03 Medium (above), includes beige and champagne pearls to naturally reflect light and even the complexion, combined with peach pearls to add a unique glow to the skin
- 04 Doré, which incorporates chocolate pearls with satin shimmers, fuchsia pearls that revive radiance and beige pearls for deliciously beautiful skin.
Météorites Blush, $42
Available in two limited-edition shades (01 Pinkand 02 Cherry), Guerlain’s new cream blushes melt instantly into the skin, leaving a satiny finish with a delicate violet scent.
Like a magically iridescent ray of pure light, the season’s new nail enamel and gloss capture the brilliance of stardust. In two new, limited-edition shades, 862 Star dust nail lacquer and 900 Star dust lip gloss. Pretty!
Ecrin 4 Couleurs eye shadow is composed of four different and specially selected textures to allow you to mix and match for endless combinations. The newest harmony, #503 Les Tendres, draws inspiration from the season: iridescent ivory, satiny nude and matte violet-plum shades express an ode to nature and renewal, while a metallic aquatic green adds vibrancy.
Ecrin 2 Duo Eyeshadow, $44
For Spring 2014, Guerlain introduces its newest shade, 09 Two V.I.P., a dazzling violet underscored by an elegant taupe.
Rouge Automatique, $35
Rouge Automatique for Spring includes two new limited-edition shades: 171 Attrape Coeur, a spicy and cheerful pink and 144 Insolence, a vibrant fuchsia.
Maxi Lash Mascara, $30
For Spring, Maxi Lash Mascara comes in one new permanent shade, 03 Moka. If you’ve never tried this formula, it’s one of my favorites. It volumizes, lengthens and strengthens lashes. And no clumping or flaking.
Eyebrow Kit, $52
Guerlain introduces a new Eyebrow Kit with Light, medium and dark powder, plus a highlighter. The shades can be mixed and blended to create a matching shade for every brow line.
The Guerlain Spring Collection opens the season with pretty and ethereal colors. I was able to try three products: the Ecrin 4 Eyeshadows Palette, Météorites Blush in 02 Cherry and Rouge Automatique in 144 Insolence.
The eyeshadow in the Ecrin 4 Eyeshadows Palette is finely milled and has excellent pigmentation, as you would expect from Guerlain. What I love about this palette is the versatility. These are colours that can be used year-around (with the possible exception of the mint green shade). For me, having the other three colours would be worth buying the palette. With “nude” shades being shown on the runway for Spring 2014, this is a pretty way to have a neutral eye, while still enhancing the overall look.
The Météorites Blush in 02 Cherry is a brand new product and it’s fun as well as gorgeous! I literally could not stop playing with it. The “bubble blush” as it’s called, glides on in a wash of sheer, transparent color that is buildable. It’s the happiest little pot of blush I own. The Cherry color isn’t too bright, it’s pretty on bare skin, over a BB cream or foundation. Scented in the signature violet, I hope Guerlain continues to add shades. Love this!
Lastly, I tried Rouge Automatique in 144 Insolence. This lipstick shade is bright, creamy and richly pigmented. Perfect for Spring and Summer, this shade is one that anyone can wear.
Guerlain’s Météorites Blossom Collection is available now at select locations of Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Sephora and Bergdorf Goodman. Guerlain is always a seasonal collection I can’t wait to see and this Spring Collection hasn’t disappointed!
