Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare has expanded the “Ferulic Acid +” range of products with the introduction of new Ferulic Acid + Retinol Fibroblast Anti-Aging Moisturizer. As a huge fan of the Ferulic Acid Retinol Brightening Solution (review) and the Ferulic + Retinol Serum Triple Correction Eye Serum (review), I couldn’t wait to test this moisturizer.
There are so many moisturizers out now, it’s hard to pick one, but in my case, the selection is always driven by the ingredients. The Ferulic Acid + Retinol Fibroblast Moisturizer combines five acids (Ferulic, Ellagic, Gallic, Hyaluronic and Glycolic) and many actives in a formula that targets anti-aging concerns. It works on smoothing wrinkles, strengthening the skin’s ability to repair itself, increasing the natural moisture barrier and restoring firmness to the skin by using a process of time-released hydration. Yes, yes and yes.
I’ve been using the Ferulic Acid + Retinol Fibroblast Anti-Aging Moisturizer for the past four weeks (twice a day, after cleansing) and I love it. The cream has a luxurious feel to it; it’s light and absorbs quickly. Even though it’s been cold and dry, my skin is glowing, not flaking, feels comfortable and overall, looks great. Of note, there is no SPF in the formula, so in the morning, you do need to add SPF after applying this moisturizer. One of the things I like is that even under makeup, I don’t get a greasy feel with use.
For two weeks I used the Ferulic Acid + Retinol Fibroblast Moisturizer alone and then for the past two weeks have been using it on top of the Ferulic Acid Retinol Brightening Solution. At no time have I experienced irritation, breakouts, stinging or any type of reaction. The directions recommend the Brightening Solution, then Moisturizer, for best results and I agree. Although several of the acids in the two products are the same, there are slight differences and I feel that the two formulas together do work better in combination.
The Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic Acid + Retinol Fibroblast Anti-Aging Moisturizer (1.7 oz., $72) is one that I would personally re-buy. From the formula to the feel to overall satisfaction with the product, I feel this is a great moisturizer. You can find it at various retailers including Sephora, Nordstrom and dgskincare.com.
I rarely recommend an entire range of products, but in this case, if you’re looking for a complete system, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution, Ferulic Acid + Retinol Fibroblast Anti-Aging Moisturizer and Ferulic Acid + Retinol Triple Eye Correction Serum are great products.
