To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first bronzer ever created, the Guerlain Summer Collection 2014 pays homage to Terracotta. At the heart of this collection stands the stunning limited-edition bronzing powder, Terracotta Sun Celebration, alongside the very first Terracotta Perfume, a captivating, sun-drenched fragrance. If you know me, you know I couldn’t be more excited about this collection.
The Guerlain Summer Collection 2014 includes:
The star of the collection, this limited-edition Terracotta Sun Celebration Powder Compact captures the sun’s intensity to illuminate skin with a dazzling aura of colors. I always count Guerlain as my favorite brand of bronzer; there just is no equal. And once you see this compact, you’ll understand why I say if you have one splurge all summer, make it the Terracotta Sun Celebration Powder Compact; it’s simply exquisite. The wood case (held shut by magnets) opens in two separate pieces. Inside, the powder is finely milled and there is no shimmer, save for the sun symbol in the middle of the compact. Colors include bronze, pink and coral for the perfect, most natural summer glow.
I’ve always appreciated the delicate fragrance that Guerlain imparts in some of their cosmetics, but the Terracotta Le Perfum Eau de Toilette takes summer fragrance to a new level. Terracotta Le Perfum is another must-have product for the summer. It just is the scent of summer for me. With top notes of bergamot, which I adore, middle notes of tiare flower and ylang ylang, base notes of vanilla, this fragrance smells fabulous. It’s a warm, sensual fragrance that warms up as you wear it. It lasts quite a long time on me. I’m thinking about buying another one as a backup; I’m afraid I’ll never capture anything this wonderful again. Trust me on this one.
Terracotta After-Summer Powder, $72.00
This season’s After-Summer Palette is another amazing work-of-art. Guerlain Terracotta After Summer Powder Terra Tropica reproduces the flattering aura of the light reflecting on skin at sunrise and sunset. With shades of bronze to add definition and coral for blush, you’ll reach for this one over and over. The gold on the sun emblems does wear away, but no matter, it’s still beautiful. Housed in a giant lacquer case, I always recommend using the Terracotta Bronzing Powder Brush for best results.
Rouge Automatique provides long-lasting color with a hydrating formula. In an impossibly chic case, this summer-brown shade will look great against bronzed skin.
You can’t go wrong with Guerlain’s Gloss d’Enfer Maxi Shine; it’s one of my favorite non-sticky, long-lasting, color-saturated formulas. This collection brings Nahema Smack, a bright orange; perfectly on-trend.
The Guerlain Le Vernis Nail Lacquer formula is excellent; it applies like a dream and has a fantastic brush. Although Tonka Imperiale is a pretty color and brown is always a popular nail shade, I’m waiting to order the Nahema shade.
The limited-edition Guerlain Summer Collection is available now at select locations of Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sephora and Bergdorf Goodman. I honestly would advise that if you see something you like, don’t wait—items in this collection are already getting limited and have sold out at several retailers online. The two compacts are stunning; grab either one if it’s in your budget. I promise you won’t regret it!
