This Fall, CHANEL plays a colorful game of opposites. The CHANEL Collection États Poétiques contrasts between innocent and stormy, bold and shy, mysterious yet romantic. You know that the CHANEL seasonal makeup collections are always among my favorites and the CHANEL Collection États Poétiques for Fall 2014 has more than a few must-haves.
The CHANEL Collection États Poétiques for Fall 2014 includes:
Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow ($29.50) in shades of Sensation (Ivory Pink), Palpitation (Soft Rose), Admiration (Golden Yellow), Exhaltation (Bright Pink), Hesitation (Pink Plum) and Pulsation (Deep Plum). I was able to try four shades. The colors are bold–no wallflowers here! My personal favorite is Hesitation, which seems to change colors, sometimes looking grey, sometimes more greige, sometimes purple.
Écriture de CHANEL Automatic Liquid Eyeliner ($35) – This felt-tip eyeliner is available in two shades: Noir (Black) and Brun (Brown). So easy to use, the precision felt-tip allows you to draw a thin or thick line. The colors wear well, too.
Joues Contraste Blush ($45) in Innocence. This is a gorgeous rose-pink that will look beautiful and natural on everyone. It’s whisper-light, yet has beautiful pigmentation. I’m obsessed.
Rouge Coco Shine ($35) in four shades: Intime (Soft Pink), Viva (Intense Fuchsia), Confident (Intense Rosewood) and Aur (Plum). I wear a Rouge Coco Shine lip color just about every.single.day. I love the light, hydrating formula that feels like a balm when on, yet still has pigmentation. Intime is a must-have if you like a light, pinky-nude shade; Viva is my pick for Fall. Love!
Levres Scintillantes Glossimer ($29.50) in two shades: Rose Reve (Milky Pink) and Songe (Iridescent Pearl).
Le Vernis ($27) in three shades: Atmosphere (Iridescent Pearl), Secret (Nude) and Orage (Grey Blue). Although I’m generally not a fan of the light/nude shades, Atmosphere is really pretty.
My favorite of the three Le Vernis shades, Orage, is such a hard color to even describe. Sometimes more blue, sometimes, grey–it really is almost impossible to capture.
Overall this collection completely surprised me. I didn’t expect the bright/bold contrasting shades and yet, they work. My look is more conservative, so with the eyeshadow, I wouldn’t necessarily wear Exaltation or Admiration. Yet, when you actually start playing and add a little in here or there, you’d be surprised at how pretty the effect can be. The Blush in Innocence would be one of my must-have picks, as is the Rouge Coco Shine in Intime and Le Vernis in Orage. Another beautiful Fall from CHANEL!
