As we just start feeling the first notes of Fall in the air, New York Fashion Week is already looking ahead to Spring. I’ve sifted through the daily reports and one show that I always look forward to is Naeem Khan. The clothes in this collection are always elegant, and the makeup, hair and nails perfectly enhance the overall look.
Makeup was by James Boehmer, NARS Director of Global Artistry. “Naeem’s inspiration this season was actress, Lauren Bacall. We liked the idea of this classic, old Hollywood Naeem girl but a bit more ‘undone’. Fresh skin, glossy eyes and a stained lip is where we landed.”
To get the look, James started with Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and Radiant Creamy Concealer. He then used various products on eyes, including Cappadoce Matte Multiple (on cheeks, as well), Mambo Eyeliner, Zen Blush, Larger Than Life Mascara and Triple X Lip Gloss on Lids. On lips, it was Ingrid Audacious Lipstick, blotted off for a stained effect. Ingrid Lipstick would be an amazing color for Fall, too!
Celebrity hair stylist Sally Hershberger created feminine, sexy, natural and wearable hair for the show. Sally’s go-to products to get the look were Supreme Lift Root Spray at the roots and Major Body 3-in-1 Volumizing. To get the effect, she used a blow dryer big roller brush to get volume at the roots, and finished with an iron for the bend. Isn’t it gorgeous?
To complement the Naeem Khan Spring/Summer 2015 line, Julie Kandalec for essie created a nail look to represent the ‘Naeem Khan girl’—elegant and done up, but not too glamorous. She used two coats of fiji, a creamy pale pink shade, on both the hands and feet to perfectly match the overall vibe of the collection.
