Certain essentials can be summed up in one phrase, or one word. At Dior, fundamental luxury springs forth in five colours – from the 5 Couleurs palette. If you’ve never tried the Dior 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette, it truly is a treat. Glorious colors and textures made to work together in the most chic way. And now…reinvented!
Usually I’m a bit wary when I see that a product I’ve used and loved for years has been updated, reimagined, “improved”. But in this day and age, competition in the beauty aisles is staggering. Dior has triumphed with the release of the new 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette Collection. The palettes have been reborn with new textures and new effects. More than a mere combination of shades, the 5 Couleurs palette reveals a range of effects, from matte to satiny and iridescent to metallic. The overall difference to me is vibrancy; the colors in these palettes have more depth of color.
At the center of the new look 5 Couleurs palette, the essential shade sets the tone. It is the fashion statement, dictating the look. Around it, four accessory shades create the style for a multi-faceted eye. For a natural daytime look, use the upper trio of shadows. For an evening look, use the bottom trio.
For Fall 2014, Dior is focusing on the couturier’s five favorite colours: red, grey, pink, black and blue. Paired together or standing alone, each of these five shades creates a timeless elegance that is emblematic of the Dior brand. If I had to pick a favorite, I’d have to go with #056 Bar; gorgeous!
The Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette Collection include Trafalgar #876, Bar #056, Pied-de-Poule #096, Carré Bleu #276, Tutu #846, 30 Montaigne #646, Cuir Cannage #796, Versailles #566, Candy Choc #676, Jardin #456, Femme Fleur #156 and Victoire #166. Whether timeless or trendsetting, they all tell the story of Dior, through their names and through their colour schemes.
The Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette Collection ($60) is available now in department stores including Nordstrom, Sephora, Neiman Marcus and at Dior.com. Will you be adding any of these palettes to your collection? Let me know in the comments!
