NARS sets the stage for a spring makeup look that is a barely-there take on neutrals. Tone on tone on tone of beautiful, understated colors for eyes, cheeks and lips. The “no makeup, nude” look was everywhere on the the Spring/Summer 2015 runways; I love NARS’ interpretation for the real world.
The NARS ‘Nude Scene’ Spring 2015 Color Collection includes:
Valhalla Single Eyeshadow – soft shimmering pink peach, $25
Porto Venere Eye Paint – soft pale pink, $25
St-Paul-De-Vence Duo Eyeshadow – shimmering nectarine (left), chestnut (right), $35
Reckless Blush – sheer pink shimmer, $30
Guyane Lip Gloss – seashell pink, $26
Vent Salé Lip Gloss – silver highlight, $26
Liguria Lipstick – nude caramel, $26
I previewed three products from the NARS Spring Collection and I’m glad I did. When I first saw the press photos, I was worried that these tones would read “washed out” once they were on. The genius of NARS is that isn’t the case at all. The Valhalla Eyeshadow is gorgeous. You can wear it as a base, then do a wash of color over it or wear it on it’s own, which is how I like it. There is a soft shimmer to the finish and color-wise, it reads a bit more peach on me.
The Reckless Blush is also beautiful. In the compact, the sample I received is a fleshy-pink-peach shade that is lighter in tone than the Valhalla eyeshadow. When you apply it, however, it definitely reads pink. There is a subtle shimmer. I love this more as a highlighter than a blush, to be honest. This is one of the prettiest shades I’ve seen from NARS!
The I also tried Guyane Lip Gloss. What surprised me was the opacity of this shade. If you’re looking to bring out that Brigitte Bardot look, you need this lip gloss. My preferred way to wear it was actually over a lipstick.
The NARS Spring 2015 Color Collection is available now in NARS boutiques, department stores including Nordstrom and Sephora, as well as narscosmetics.com. See anything that strikes your fancy for Spring?
