Every season there is one bronzer that I hold my breath to see, and that bronzer is from Guerlain. This summer’s must-have limited-edition Terracotta Terre D’été Tan-Enhancing Bronzer for face and décolleté is a work of art. Gone in a blink, you don’t want to miss it.
The Terracotta Terre D’été bronzer (or “After Summer Palette”) is an oversized bronzer that conveys the sun in that first eye-catching moment when the eyes meet the sands of golden dunes. There are three shades of finely milled powder within the compact:
- Bronzing: a universal bronzing shade that gently warms the complexion and adds a slight contour
- Coral: a tender shade perfect for the start of summer that will give just the right amount of color for that “sun-kissed glow”
- A Golden Terracotta Sun: (in center) a subtly sprayed golden sun that fades away gracefully after a few sweeps of the brush
When blended together and swept over the face and décolleté, the shades of the Terracotta Terre d’Été Tan-Enhancing Bronzer meld into a natural sunkissed glow that takes you through the entire season. I always have a hard time working up the courage to swirl my brush over the bronzer for the first time, as I hate to ruin the golden sun in the center. But this bronzer is too good not to use. For me, the color is sheer, golden perfection. And I’m obsessed with the light scent of the tiare flower.
For best application, I recommend using the Terracotta Bronzing Powder Brush. I like the compact bristles which easily pick up the right amount of product. This shape is also helpful for using your bronzer to contour. Sweep over the face using the “3 gesture” for a flawlessly sculpted glow: from forehead to cheekbones, from cheekbones to chin, then down towards the throat.
The limited-edition Guerlain Terracotta Terre d’Été Tan-Enhancing Bronzer ($78) is available now in department stores, including Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. It’s definitely a splurge, but for someone who loves beautiful makeup, it’s worth it!
