This summer, Dior’s Peter Philips brings us the Milky Dots Collection and allows us to dream of sandy beaches, layers of shells washed ashore, lush flowers, and bright, blue water. Taking inspiration from a motif previously reserved for fashion, Peter Philips has created new harmonies in effects and colors using makeup.
The Dior Summer 2016 Milky Dots Collection includes:
Diorskin Nude Air Glow Healthy Glow Radiance Powder in two shades: Fresh Tan #001 and Fresh Light #002 ($56)
Dior Eye Reviver Illuminating Eye Palette 002 ($62)
Dior Vernis Color & Dots Manicure Kit ($31 each) with it’s own dotting tool, in three options:
Confettis – cherry red and melon orange
Plumetis – intense pink off and soft lavender
Pastilles – azure blue with Nude creme
Dior Addict Milky Tint Nourishing Lip Fluid ($35 each) in:
Milky Pastel #156
Milky Plum #286
Milky Peach #356
Milky Pop #376
My take: This is such a pretty, classic summer makeup collection! The Nude Air Glow Healthy Glow Radiance Powder, which was included in my Best Summer Bronzers Update is a great investment in a healthy glow/bronzing powder for summer. The powder is so finely milled and natural looking; it never applies streaky.
The Dior Addict Milky Tints are a brand new launch; they apply like and have the finish of a gloss, with the coverage of a stain. The color is subtle and muted; “Milky Pop” is the brightest shade. In my opinion, I’d be more likely to rebuy a Dior Addict Fluid Stick, which is more pigmented.
And if you haven’t tried nail art yet, grab one of the Color & Dots Manicure Kits. Each kit contains two coordinated shades of Vernis Nail Color, plus a dotting tool. I’m not an expert in nail art, but I can do dots, so I love this kit. So fun!
The Dior Summer 2016 Milky Dots Collection is available now in department stores, including Nordstrom and some availability in Sephora. What strikes your fancy for summer?
