Join M·A·C for an intergalactic odyssey with the release of the new Star Trek Collection! Taking beauty to a world far, far away, the Star Trek Collection is an out-of-this-world experience in colors and textures.
M·A·C X Star Trek is a perfect collaboration; the far-out looks, bright colors and iridescent textures capture the imagination. The Star Trek Collection focuses on eyes with Pressed Pigments, lips with Lipglass and Lipsticks, and even skin, with the multi-hued Trip The Light Fantastic Powder. Studio Nail Lacquers have a frosty, metallic feel.
I was able to try several of the products, including a Lipglass in Set to Stun (silver iridescent), Pressed Pigment in Midnight and To Boldly Go, and Studio Nail Lacquer in Holla-Deck (gold iridescent). Since metallics are having a moment now, the Star Trek Collection is an excellent opportunity to wear the trend. The Lipglass and Pressed Pigments are especially good picks to maximize sparkle on eyes and lips. To proceed a little more cautiously, the Superslick Liquid Eyeliners add a touch of metallic without going overboard.
When I saw photos online, I knew I had to buy the Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Luna Luster. This is a baked powder, with several shades of color (pink/peach and a bit of purple veining) swirled in. It imparts a luminous, slightly shimmery finish–very subtle. If you’ve wanted to dabble in highlighting but are unsure of the right product, this powder would be a nice option. It’s a gorgeous finish to the face.
The M·A·C Star Trek Collection packaging commemorates the 50th anniversary of the series with special logos. For extra inspiration, M·A·C designed special Trekkie-inspired makeup looks; you can find videos and how-tos on the M·A·C website.
Overall, this is a fun and collectible limited-edition collection. You can find the M·A·C Star Trek Collection in department stores, including Nordstrom and online at maccosmetics.com. May the force be with you!
