bareMinerals has introduced barePRO™ Performance Wear Powder Foundation in an effort to give women a natural matte finish makeup, without a caked on feel. It’s the successor to READY Foundation, bareMinerals first solid powder foundation.
As someone who was a huge fan of READY Foundation, I was sad to see it go, but anxious to try new barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation. There are differences in the formulation, an increased number of shades and overall performance.
bareMinerals barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation has an extensive shade range–30 shades. I tried Warm Light 07, Golden Ivory 08 and Light Natural 09 (bottom shade), which turned out to be the best match for my skintone. For testing purposes, I didn’t do anything special, in terms of a primer….I just used the barePRO Core Coverage Brush ($30) for application. Initially, I felt like I could “feel” barePRO Foundation on my face (that did go away), and when comparing ingredients between that and READY Foundation, yes, there is a difference. Notably, barePRO Foundation doesn’t have SPF in it. This foundation is made of 90% vitamins and minerals; there is Talc in it.
In terms of coverage, barePRO Foundation offers nice light to medium, buildable coverage that lasts all day. There is a matte finish once on the skin. The formula helps to prevent breakthrough oiliness. In my personal opinion, after wearing barePRO Foundation, I think this would be a great option for those with combination and oily skins; if you have dry skin, as with any powder foundation– try it first.
bareMinerals barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation ($30) comes in 30 shades, so you should be able to find a match. You can find barePRO Foundation at bareMinerals boutiques, Sephora, Sephora inside jcpenney, Ulta, Macy’s and bareMinerals.com. Have you tried this new foundation yet? What did you think?
