It seems that 2016 flew by in a flash, didn’t it? Here at Beauty411, I tested and tried so many beauty products. These are the new favorite beauty products that have made their way into my beauty rotation; if you haven’t tried them, put them on your #beautygoals wishlist!
To me, 2016 stands out as the year of the highlighter. Of all the makeup categories I tried in 2016, highlighters dominated. Adding lightness to the planes of the face brightens, awakens and gives an overall more radiant look.
The BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop is holy grail status. I love it because it’s natural looking, and not glittery. And now there are new shades! I’m obsessed with the new Rose Gold, Moonstone and Bronzed Amber [Find more favorite highlighters].
I’ll also remember 2016 for the amazing lipstick launches from Dior (read Rouge Dior review), Make Up For Ever (read Artist Rouge Collection review), MAC (read Liptensity Lipstick Collection review), Urban Decay (read Vice Lipstick review), and bareMinerals (read GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection review).
CHANEL is a perennial favorite in my makeup rotation, if for no other reason than they continue to produce some of the most beautiful products. The Ombres Lamees de Chanel Eyeshadow Palette (review) is a piece of art, a showstopper. I absolutely love it!
IT Cosmetics consistently hits it out of the park with makeup products that work. This year the brand branched out into Sephora with skincare. If you haven’t tried these products, I really like the Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream and the Bye Bye Lines Serum.
As a brand, MAC is one of the most innovative brands I cover. In 2016, there were many great releases, including Shadescents (review), the Mariah Carey Collection (review), InstaCurl Mascara (review) and the Eyes on MAC Anniversary Collection (review). I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings!
Color correcting makeup was a popular makeup technique re-discovered in 2016 and Urban Decay led the way with the introduction of the NAKED Skin Color Correcting Fluid (review), followed up by Lancome’s Miracle CC Cushion Color Correcting Primers (review), which are truly innovative!
Clarisonic is a product I’ve recommended for years; this year I found my favorite in the Clarisonic Mia Fit (read more). The Mia Fit is the perfect size and shape to keep me consistently using it. My skin has never looked better!
