Urban Decay is out with their Spring 2017 collection, and it’s focused on skincare and makeup prep. A new Priming Spray, new Primers and repackaged Makeup Setting Sprays had me geeking out to try everything. While it’s not what I expected from Urban Decay for Spring, I couldn’t co-sign on this collection more.

The Urban Decay Spring 2017 Prep, Prime and Set lineup includes:

Prep Sprays, $31 each

B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Priming Spray: This spray is formulated with vitamin B6, antioxidant vitamin E and willow bark. It calms/balances the skin, plus is oil-absorbing and shine reducing.

Quick Fix Complexion Prep Priming Spray ($31): {New} Hydrates, balances and energizes with vitamin B3 and coconut water. I love this spray, since my skin is often dehydrated/fatigued. Plus, it smells amazing!

New Primers, $34 each

De-Slick Complexion Primer: Mattifying, oil-absorbing, pre-minimizing formula. For those with oily/combination skins, this primer is excellent. For application, press or dab…don’t rub…onto skin. You can use over or under makeup.

Optical Illusion Complexion Primer: Love this one! The formula contains optical blurring pigments for a beautiful soft-focus, powdery-matte finish. The formula feels nourishing and it is…argan, rosehip and meadowfoam seed oils moisturize and condition skin. All skin types can benefit from this primer.

Bright & Tight Complexion Primer: I didn’t have the opportunity to test this primer, but I’m going to wind up buying it once it’s available. The formula hydrates and firms, with hyaluronic filling spheres, has vitamin B3 and lychee extract to brighten skin and has a pearl finish for a youthful glow.

Self-Adjusting Complexion Primer: My other favorite of the four I tried, this primer color-corrects amazingly well. The formula immediately adjusts to your skin tone (you can actually see it turning color!). Fills in fine lines, minimizes pores and controls shine. Great for all skin types.

Urban Defense Complexion Primer SPF 30: This is a hydrating clear gel formula that not only minimizes the appearance of pores and smoothes skin, it protects skin with SPF 30! Not sticky, you apply this primer to your complexion before foundation.

Makeup Setting Sprays, $31 each (4 0z. size)

All Nighter: Keeps makeup in place for up to 16 hours; no melting, fading or settling into fine lines. No kidding.

De-Slick: Oil-controlling, mattifies, hydrates while setting makeup. If oil-control is a real issue for you, this can help so that you’re not constantly blotting.

Chill: features temperature control technology (it’s a thing!) that actually cools the surface of your makeup to help it last for up to 12 hours without smudging or settling into fine lines. Like a timeout for your makeup.

With this collection of prep sprays, primers and setting sprays, Urban Decay is encouraging us to come up with our own personalized “cocktail”. Similar in concept to multi-masking, as I started playing with the different products, I totally got it. My best combination is to start out by preparing my skin with Quick Fix Complexion Prep Priming Spray. Once that dries, I mix a drop of Optical Illusion Complexion Prime and Self-Adjusting Complexion Primer and apply before my foundation. Once my makeup is applied, I finish with a spritz of Chill. It’s brilliant!

The Urban Decay Prep, Prime and Setting products are available now at Sephora, ULTA Beauty and urbandecay.com. If you want your makeup to look flawless, Urban Decay is bringing the goods to help it get there. Will you be trying any?
