Even though I love living in the Midwest with it’s change of seasons, winter is the one season that I could do without. The harsh cold air wreaks havoc with your skin and hair. Changing out products to include more oils and other hydration-helpers can help keep skin conditioned and comfortable.

These are my head-to-toe winter skin care must-haves:

I get my day started with AVEENO Daily Moisturizing Body Wash from the new Yogurt Collection. I love the creamy Apricot & Honey, which smells fresh and keeps skin soft. It’s formulated to gently cleanse the skin without stripping it. Grab one on your next drugstore/discount store run.

Dry, flaky skin doesn’t stand a chance when you use The Body Shop Brazilian Cupuaçu Scrub-in-Oil. This bi-phase salt scrub exfoliates skin to leave it soft, glowing and completely moisturized. It has a lovely, light scent too. Obsessed!

Lock in the moisture with Sol de Janiero’s new Açaí Body Power Cream. Formulated with Amazonian anti-oxidant Acai Oil, this cream has a light, whipped texture, fruity fragrance, and leaves skin radiant. This all-over body cream is a sister to the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream.

Switching from a cleanser to a cleansing balm is a good winter skin care strategy. I’ve been using Farmacy Green Clean, powered by Echinacea Purpurea, Sunflower Oil, Ginger Root Oil, Papaya Extract and more. This balm not only dissolves makeup, it hydrates, brightens skin and leaves it silky smooth. [Coming soon to Sephora!]

To keep the eye area looking smooth, hydrated and fresh, I’ve recently discovered Lancôme’s Visionnaire Yeux Eye Cream Advanced Multi-Correcting Eye Balm. I’ve seen improvement in my dark circles, plus it works on puffiness, and fine lines and wrinkles. What I like is that it’s powered by technology that blurs imperfections; just what you need before makeup application.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream is an ultra-rich, super anti-aging formula intensely hydrates skin while plumping fine lines and wrinkles. While nature is trying to take the moisture out of your skin, Confidence In A Cream is regenerating and transforming skin. Perfect winter moisturizer!

The Pixi Skintreats Glow Mist is a nice way to keep the hydration going throughout the day. It’s enriched with 21 natural oils, propolis, aloe vera and fruit extracts to hydrate, protect and nourish. Absorbs right in without making skin greasy or leaving a residue.

Areas on my skin that takes a beating include elbows, hands and cuticles. The new MAC Prep + Prime Essential Oils Stick is completely portable, so you can treat dry areas on the spot. Dab on fingertips and use to tame flyaways, too!

A good lip balm is a must for the cold weather, and one that I’ve depended on for years is Fresh Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment. You can apply any time, but it’s especially good at night when lips dry out. If I apply before bedtime, I wake up with soft, moisturized and smooth lips (no flaking or cracked lips for me!).

OGX radiant glow Argan Oil of Morocco Body Oil Mist can be applied to skin right in the shower. It absorbs into skin and comfortably hydrates. I like that you apply this Body Mist in the shower and don’t wash it off. Just blot skin when you get out, and you’re good. I seal in with a body cream for extra moisture.
