The thought of walking into Sephora in search of a highlighting product and being bombarded with choices, can be intimidating. Getting your glow on is an essential part of our makeup routines, but deciphering the products and terminology can be daunting. BECCA has come up with the “Glow Glossary” to help.

If you’re like me, I know what I love, but I’m not always sure how to get the look. By designing the Glow Glossary, BECCA has translated each specific “glow” to times of the day. It makes it so much simpler!

For fresh, awake and hydrated skin like Dawn, start out with First Light Priming Filter. I love this product and use it every morning before my foundation. This feels like a fresh drink of water for my skin. First Light Priming Filter color corrects (hence the lavender color), hydrates and gives a fresh, healthy glow.

If you want a dewy glow like Sunrise, reach for the Shimmering Skin Perfector® Liquid Highlighter. There are five shades (I love the Opal shade) that can be used under or over makeup for a natural, dewy finish.

If you’re looking for highlighting on fleek (Noon), the Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter will give a high-impact look. I use this with a light hand when I want a little more oomph to my glow. This is the “power glow”, or strobing look.

The newest addition to the family is the limited-edition Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter in Prismatic Amethyst. It’s a lavender duo-chrome infused with pale gold, violet, and rose pearls for a holographic effect. It’s gorgeous and available NOW!

Ever notice that hazy glow that makes everything look beautiful at Sunset? The Backlight Filter Face Primer is a primer that is applied before makeup for a lit-from-within, luminous glow. Crushed pearls in the formula adds radiance, and the formula helps minimize skin imperfections.

To help with dark circles, I’ve also been using the Under Eye Brightening Corrector. The pink color corrects/cancels out the bluish tones prominent in dark circles and brightens. Plus the creamy consistency doesn’t settle into fine lines.

One of the newest BECCA products is the Soft Light Blurring Setting Powder, which translates into the soft glow of twilight. I’ve been using this powder daily and love the soft focus finish which seems to blur away and smooth imperfections. The Golden Hour shade is universally flattering. It’s a beautiful finish to your makeup look. Use the BECCA Soft Kabuki Brush for flawless application.

Lastly, if you’re looking for a subtle wash of glow like you’d see in the Moonlight, use the Shimmering Skin Perfector® Poured Crème Highlighter. You can use your fingers to touch or press the product onto your skin for a subtle, luminous glow. I find this to be one of the most forgiving products, especially good for dry/mature skin.

As highlighters have increased in popularity, I’ve found that I reach for the BECCA products most consistently. If you haven’t tried the line, you can find BECCA cosmetics at Sephora and at Do you have a favorite highlighting product? Share it with me in the comments!
