If you haven’t gone through your eyeshadow drawer and rotated out the fall-winter palettes, it’s time! We’re deep into spring releases and the summer eyeshadow palettes are starting to drop. I’ve been busy taking note of the best spring-summer eyeshadow palettes to save you time (and money).
The look for spring and summer eyes is color. While I’m never one to say you have to wear the trend, after months of neutrals (which I love to death!), I am ready to embrace some of the vibrant eyeshadows out now. The color saturation is beautiful, and you can control the intensity just by using a lighter hand and blending out. I’ve tried to find a nice balance of neutrals and color for the season!
My favorite Spring and Summer Eyeshadow Palettes include:
- Tarte Make Believe In Yourself: Eye & Cheek Palette
- Maybelline The 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
- FLOWER Beauty Shimmer & Shade Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Natural
- Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat Tenant Eyeshadow Palette
- Too Faced Natural Love Ultimate Neutral Eyeshadow Palette
- Smashbox Cover Shot: Eyeshadow Palette in Ablaze (review)
- BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette (review)
- Clarins 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette
- Stila Matte ‘N Metal Eyeshadow Palette
- Tom Ford Soleil Eye and Cheek Palette
- MAC Tropical Cool Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette (Eyes on MAC Collection)
- PUR Cosmetics Dream Chaser Vanity Palette
- Laura Geller Island Escape Palette
- LORAC California Dreaming Eyeshadow Palette
- NARS Loaded Eyeshadow Palette
Thoughts on the above palettes…Tarte’s Make Believe in Yourself Eye & Cheek Palette is inspired by the mythical unicorn. Mostly metallics, the shadows have a beautiful iridescence to them. Maybelline The 24K Nudes offers 12 metallic glinted-with-gold shades. FLOWER Beauty has come out with four new Shimmer & Shade eyeshadow palettes. I love Golden Natural, with ten shades of bronze. The Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat Tenant Eyeshadow Palette features eight brilliant shadows and will be a must-have for summer.
Can you ever have too many neutrals? The Too Faced Natural Love Ultimate Neutral Eyeshadow Palette says no, in a collection of 7 matte, 13 shimmer and 10 sparkle shadows. I love the Smashbox Cover Shot Palettes, and for summer, Ablaze is perfect. These palettes are small and portable, which is great for travel. The Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette is a must-have. The eyeshadows go on flawlessly, there are six highlighter shades, all beautifully packaged and a fantastic value.
I love the shades in the new Clarins Eyeshadow Palette; they remind me of a warm summer night sunset. The Stila Matte ‘N Metal Eyeshadow Palette is so pretty; 6 neutral mattes and 6 metallics, which are definitely having a moment. This season’s Tom Ford Soleil Eye and Cheek Palette is a splurge, but the shadows are buttery soft, the blush and highlighter are gorgeous, and the four eyeshadow shades have beautiful depth of color. Le sigh.
The PUR Cosmetics Dream Chaser Vanity Palettes include 4 eye shadows, a highlighter, bronzer, blush and a mirror that pops up into a handy vanity mirror. I love the colors in the Laura Geller Island Escape Palette; 12 baked eyeshadow shades that have good color payoff and can be used wet or dry. The LORAC California Dreaming Eyeshadow Palette is a Cali-inspired versatile mix of matte and shimmer shades with the pigmentation you expect from LORAC. Last but not least, the new NARS Loaded Eyeshadow Palette is stunning. The 12 shades are truly a cohesive color statement, with the excellent saturated color NARS is known for. This palette gives me life!
