As beauty companies keep feeding my obsession with highlighters, my latest crush is the Smashbox x Casey Holmes Spotlight Palette. Created by vlogger Casey Holmes, as a fan of highlighters herself, she designed the Spotlight Palette to be flattering, wearable and easy to use.

There are two color variants in the Spotlight Palette: Pearl and Gold. Each palette has three shades that increase in intensity. I love that, because it’s easy to visualize the finish you’re going to get. Want to go mild, or are highlighter shy? Then Turn It On (light). Feel like a little more oomph? Crank It Up (medium). Want to go all the way, full-on glitter? Then Blow A Fuse!

The Spotlight Palette in Pearl would be most flattering on fair-to-light/medium skin tones, with shades in the champagne family. Shades include: Turn It On Pearl (Shimmer Neutral Yellow), Crank It Up Pearl (Shimmer Neutral Pink) and Blow A Fuse Pearl (Sparkle Neutral Pink).

The Spotlight Palette in Gold would be great on medium to darker skin tones, or if you wanted to use as a bronzer. Shades include: Turn It On Gold (Shimmer Warm Beige), Crank It Up Gold (Shimmer Warm Nude) and Blow A Fuse Gold (Sparkle Golden Brown).

The shades in these palettes are creamy and blendable; very easy to work with. I like that there is a “get the look” guide included with each of the palettes, with application tips and ideas. If I had to choose a favorite, I couldn’t. I love the Pearl shades, but the Gold is nice for summer. The compact size of the palette is perfect for travel.

The Smashbox Spotlight Palette ($35) is available now in department stores including Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta Beauty and at These are beautiful palettes that I can highly recommend!
