It’s always a daunting task to try to keep up with new mascara launches–it seems there’s a new batch that crops up every other month. But I’ve found three new mascaras that are noteworthy. New releases from M·A·C, L’Oreal Paris and Dior are ones you need to put on your radar.

M·A·C is constantly innovating and the new Bold & Bad Lash Mascara is a perfect example of that. This is a dual chamber mascara, where the small brush for lower lashes fits inside a larger chamber that doubles as the brush for upper lashes. Don’t let the size of the tube scare you off. The idea works brilliantly! As to the formula, I love it. Count on a big, full, voluminous lash look. The small brush for the lower lashes works perfectly, to coat but not overwhelm. In multiple uses, I’ve had no clumping or flaking. I’ve long been a fan of M·A·C mascaras and in my opinion, this is a winner. I would definitely rebuy this one!

Dior DiorShow is the mascara that I’ve repurchased more times than any.other.mascara. Ever. For me, it’s always been the best brush, the right combination of length and volume and the mascara I judge every competitor against. I was curious about the new Diorshow Pump ‘N’ Volume Mascara. By squeezing the tube, you warm the mascara formula, which leads to better coverage on the lash, more volume and a high impact look. Overall, I get great volume from Pump ‘N’ Volume Mascara. I like the coverage, however because the formula seems “wetter” than other DiorShow mascaras I’ve worn, I’ve been going back in and using my mascara fan brush to separate and comb through, particularly on my bottom lashes. Overall though, a good pick.

One look at L’Oreal’s Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara and the first thing that came to mind is *another* high end mascara in a pink tube–Better Than Sex Mascara. Intentional? I’m not sure, but at half the price, I knew it was worth buying a tube to find out. There are two Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara formulas, regular (which I bought) and Waterproof, which I want to try. The brush is large and has a wavy shape, similar to BTS. This mascara has a good volumizing and lengthening effect without being heavy or clumpy–in other words, more of a “light” coverage. I didn’t experience any clumping or flaking. My only criticism is the same as the one I have with BTS; I have a hard time with this brush shape on my eyes. I tend to get more product buildup at the end of my lashes. Overall, for the formula and price, a solid mascara.
