When I think of high performance makeup, MAKE UP FOR EVER is one of the top brands that comes to mind. New Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows adds to the portfolio of products that perform under extreme conditions, while being user-friendly.
MAKE UP FOR EVER makes great products across the board–ones that can be used year around. But to me, the brand really shines when you’re looking for waterproof makeup. Summer’s high humidity and temperatures require makeup that is formulated to go the distance. The new Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows do just that.
I was sent the collection of Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows to try for myself, and I’m really impressed. The cream-to-powder formula is super pigmented and easy to work with. You can apply the shadows with your fingers. The way I’ve been using them is to squeeze a bead on the back of my hand, and then use an eyeshadow brush to pick up and lay down the color. The Color Paint Shadows dry quickly, and once on, are not budging. What I love is that this eyeshadow is waterproof, sweatproof and humidity proof, while being smudgeproof and crease-resistant. Because these shadows stay on for the long haul, I’ve found the best removal to be with an oil-based eye makeup remover.
In addition to being used as a shadow, you can pick the lighter shades like L-14 (Lustrous White), I-50 (Iridescent Warm Beige–>my favorite shade in the whole collection!), M-52 (matte beige) and apply as a primer, layering another eyeshadow on top. There are three different finishes available: Matte, Lustrous (satin) and Iridescent (shimmer). The shade range is impressive too, everything from gorgeous neutrals to brights. I would advise picking up at least a couple shades to experiment with. You’re going to love them!
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows ($25 each) are available now at Sephora and MakeUpForEver boutiques and online at MakeUpForEver.com.
