Urban Decay is all about the glow for Summer 2017. Following on the heels of launching new skin care and makeup prep products, Urban Decay is now turning to highlighting and contouring…with new products that will amaze and delight!

The new releases for Summer 2017 include:

The NAKED Skin Shifter Palette is really a game-changer. This palette is so versatile…there are two sides to it; one side houses powders for contouring and a highligher, the other side holds cream formulas for highlighting, contouring and color correction. In between there is a decent sized mirror. If you’re buying this palette, seriously do yourself a favor and pick up the Pro Contour Shapeshifter Brush, too. Used together, you have everything you need to add definition to the face. Since I don’t do major contouring on the daily, I was surprised at how easy and how natural it is to incorporate with this palette. And the size is purse or travel friendly–love that! In two shade selections: Light Medium Shift and Medium Dark Shift.

Also new are Liquid Aura Illuminating and The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-In Mediums. The Liquid Aura Mix-In Medium is an opalescent formula that can be mixed into your foundation for an iridescent glow. Or, if you prefer, you can dab it right onto your skin for more of a concentrated, strobing effect. If applied direct, you’ll see a distinct cool shift with a multidimensional glow.

The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-In Medium is a powder formula. The powder is silky and finely milled. The directions say to mix a dime-size amount of powder into your foundation, but that was too much for me. It made my foundation too thick. This one took a little more playing with to get the right amount/texture, but boy, when you find the right ration of powder to foundation, it’s amazing. Once mixed, apply your foundation as usual. The result is a matte, velvety finish.

The Afterglow Highlighter Palette is my favorite product out of the collection, simply because four UD highlighters in four perfect shades? YES! The four shades include Bliss (pale gold w/ golden shift), Peroxide (iridescent pink), NSFW (peachy pink) and Side Piece (golden peach). I like that each highlighter is a decent size and can be used individually, although I always blend my own shade. The powder is nicely pigmented and super finely milled. You can build color. I like the fact that these are more a luminous “glow” and not a glittery finish. And the packaging is just exquisite.

NAKED Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body in Fireball is a nice option for summer. This is a baked powder with a fair amount of sparkle. To me, it’s really perfect for bare skin on your shoulders and decollete area, or anywhere you want to sparkle in the light. It’s a pretty pink-peach shade, and comes in it’s own mirrored box with a brush.

NAKED Skin The Illuminizer Translucent Pressed Beauty Powder is the perfect way to finish off your makeup. Formulated with synthetic white sapphire pigments, you get a finish that reflects light while softly illuminating skin. In looking at the ingredients, it appears to be talc-free. I love the luminous finish that you get and honestly, this was probably the product in the collection that surprised me the most. It’s kind of addicting…one you start using it, you don’t want to forget it.

The Urban Decay Summer Collection is out now at various retailers including Nordstrom, Sephora, ULTA Beauty and urbandecaycosmetics.com; do you see anything that catches your eye? Let me know in the comments!
