Urban Decay Cosmetics is out with the celestial-inspired Elements Eyeshadow Palette; another major temptation! The Elements Palette is actually a holiday offering, which gets earlier and earlier every year. Regardless, you won’t want to miss out on this one.
For the Elements Eyeshadow Palette, Wende from Urban Decay tapped into a cosmic theme, with 19 eyeshadow shades that represent water, fire, air and the earth. Since jewel-toned palettes are a huge trend for fall and into the spring, she couldn’t have been more in-tune with the beauty world. The finishes in the Elements Palette include mattes, metallics and holographic shimmers. The shadows can be used wet (here’s looking at you Sapphire Dream) or dry.
The out-of-this-world packaging is on point, too. The palette is circular, with jewel-toned gemstones on the outside. When you open it up, you see a sparkling gold background, with all the eyeshadows appearing to revolve around the center shade, Luna, the ultra-iridescent transformer shade. Luna is the unicorn shade you’ve needed–it’s stunning alone or over another eyeshadow.
When using the Element Palette, I pick two of the shades on the outer “ring”, then add one of the inner shades as an accent. For example, Volcanic (bronze metallic) for my lid, Lioness (smoky burgundy satin with bronze sparkle) blended into the crease and Moon Rock (metallic copper with iridescent sparkle) as an accent. Overall, the pigmentation in the Elements Palette is very good; the few shadows that I felt were a bit lacking were (surprisingly) the three mattes. The other shades practically glow with color. I had little to no fallout or patchiness with these eyeshadows.
