If you’re a Disney Princess fan (and who among us isn’t?), you might have had the ColourPop Disney Designer Collection on your radar. The 18-piece collection has everything you need to indulge your inner princess. Being the Disney addict that I am, of course I had to pick up a few pieces!
Disney has collaborated for makeup collections in the past, including several with MAC (noteably the Cinderella, Maleficent and Venomous Villains Collections) and more recently the Minnie Beauty by Sephora Collection. This is the first makeup collection that I know of that celebrates the Disney Princesses. You can now book a “Character Couture package” in Disney salons and get hair, makeup and nails done — but with this collection, you’ve got the makeup look down.
The ColourPop x Disney Designer Collection includes the “It’s A Princess Thing eyeshadow palette, Kiss the Girl Lux Lipsticks, Cinderella Ultra Lip Glosses, Super Shock Eyeshadow singles and Super Shock Cheek Highlighters. This was my first experience trying out ColourPop, and I was impressed with the pieces that I picked up. The packaging in this collection is ridiculously on point, and exceeded my expectations. I didn’t buy the entire PR package, but I probably should have. Live and learn.
The ColourPop “It’s a Princess Thing” Eyeshadow Palette has 15 eyeshadows in a variety of finishes, including matte and metallic. The colors are fairly neutral and mostly what I’d consider to be warm-toned. The pigmentation is very good, with good color payoff and blendability, with little fallout and excellent wear time. The shimmer/metallic shades are so pretty, with some duochrome finishes.
I’ve been wanting to try ColourPop lipsticks for some time, so I didn’t hesitate to grab the Kiss the Girl Lux Lipstick Bundle. There are six lipsticks in this collection, each named after a princess. The Crème Lux Lipstick formula is a hydrating matte that doesn’t feel dry on the lips. There is excellent wear time and color saturation. I love the gold case with the signature of each princess on it.
The Kiss the Girl Lux Lipstick colors include:
Ariel–peachy beige nude; Belle–rosy berry; Cinderella–true blue pink; Jasmine–vibrant hot pink; Snow White–candy apple red; Tiana–deep oxblood red.
I also bought the Super Shock Cheek Highlighters in A Smile and a Song (warm light gold) and Part of your World (cool silvery pink), The formula is soft and very blendable. These are excellent highlighters for $8! I love the castle imprinted on the case…enchanting!
The ColourPop X Disney Designer Collection is available on Colourpop.com and on ShopDisney.com. There are limited pieces available on both sites, however, I did notice on the Colourpop site that a restock is coming. Did you get in on this collection, or are you planning on it? Let me know!
