Back to school shopping is under way, and whether you’re filling your locker or your dorm room, these are the beauty and personal care essentials that you need!
Personal care is always at the front of back to school shopping, and that includes hair products. I’m loving the new Rahua Hydration Detangler + UV Barrier. It’s a leave-in conditioner that softens hair, prevents breakage, blocks humidity and tames frizz. Plus, the UV defense is great for color-treated hair. All that, and a great tropical scent!
Meet my new mascara obsession from IT Cosmetics in partnership with Drybar®! Lash Blowout Salon Volume Lift Mascara delivers amazing volume, all-day lift and no clumps. The formula is enriched with biotin to condition lashes. Seriously, the brush is an A+. It impeccibly separates lashes and prevents clumping, thanks to tiny microspheres at the ends of the bristles. There are only a handful of mascaras that I re-buy, but this will be on that list!
Get your glow on with the gorgeous Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Petal Glow Highlighters! In four shades to complement all skin tones, and a skin-friendly formula, this highlighter gives a pearlescent finish. The embossed rose design looks so luxe (and is a dupe for much more expensive versions).
The Aveline Razor is an easy to use compact razor has all the angles figured out, to make for an ergonomic shaving experience. The razor glides over skin, and since using it, I’ve had no nicks or cuts! I tried the Aveline Starter Kit, which includes the razor and a nice range of body products.
Another basic beauty essential is makeup brushes. Luxie Beauty sent over their new releases, including the Summer Daze Set and Travel Essentials Set. These beautiful brush sets are configured so that you have just what you need to create endless beauty looks, in compact, convenient sizes. I’m really impressed with these brushes!
If you happen to get a breakout, Pixi Skintreats Zero Zit Solution is sure to help. This lightweight blemish treatment is quick absorbing, helps to minimize redness, swelling and future breakouts. The convenient-sized tube is backpack, handbag or locker-friendly, too.
Let’s not forget the floss! Using Plackers dental flossers makes it so easy, you’ll never forget to floss. I like the Gentleslide Flossers, since I have tight teeth from braces. Plackers makes flossing comfortable and effortless!
A new lip gloss is always in order, and Revlon’s Super Lustrous The Gloss is available now in 14 new shades (for a total of 24!). What I like about The Gloss is how hydrating it is, with major shine and a non-stick formula. My favorite new shade is Rose Quartz, a pretty neutral with a holographic finish.
Back to school can mean breakouts; your skin still needs hydration, but choosing a moisturizer can be tricky. I like Origins new Clear Improvement Pore Clearing Moisturizer with Bamboo Charcoal. It’s oil-free, non-comedogenic and provides lightweight, all-day hydration. It’s great for combination/oily/acne-prone skin types.
To finish your look, try new Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold. This is my favorite Elnett hairspray yet; it provides a soft, brushable, touchable all-day hold, along with shine and humidity resistance. Best part…no buildup on hair!
